Mr. Burns will be acting as CAS coordinator this year. Check this page often for important CAS information.
Reporting
As you are aware, you will be required to spend a minimum of 150 hours at your various CAS activities. It is important to note that simply reporting hours will not suffice to meet the CAS graduation requirements. Your experiential learning will be expressed through the reporting system. Our reporting requirements are simple but they must be completed as required.
All students are required to complete for each year:
1. A one page strategy plan must be written and submitted to me by September 15th. This will provide me with confirmation that you have thought through your personal plan to achive CAS requirements.
2. A journal of reflections to be completed weekly.
3. An activity log which will be in the form of table and will list dates. The columns of the table will be Activity, CAS category, Dates started, Date completed, Total hours.
4. An excel spreadsheet that tracks your activity hours in each of the CAS categories. This will be available on backup, Mr. Burns.
5. A CASport which is a summary description of major activities and a final summary for each year end. (Both year 1 and year 2)
Each student will be scheduled for two reviews of your entire CAS file throughout each year of the IB diploma program.
I will be completing the necessary forms for graduation including a detailed evaluation of your CAS activties and experiential learning at year end.
Looking forward to working together!
